Everyone falls in love with Calpe and when you get there you will know why!  It is a truly delightful resort in the Costa Blanca region’s more green and mountainous part.  It has a very unhurried atmosphere but is only 10 miles from the hustle and bustle and bright lights of Benidorm with a daily transport system easily accessible.  There is so much to see and do in this picturesque area of Spain, most famous for its fish market and the “Penon De Ifach” – a huge rock, affectionately known as the second Rock of Gibraltar, standing proud in the heart of Calpe’s wonderful sandy beaches and fine coastline. The more energetic amongst you can ramble to the top of the Penon De Ifach in just over an hour – needless to say we cannot guarantee timings as we’ve still not found the energy and, after 11 years, I think it is unlikely now!  Many have though and apparently, the views from the top are magical which, when you see it towering out of the sea, you will have no doubts about.

Hotel Roca Esmeralda is a Three Star aparthotel; situated on the mile long promenade, a level walkway beside the beach which links the more modern resort of Calpe with the old town.  This charming boulevard, with its tourist shops and cafés, meanders through the smart marina, the harbour and the old fishmarket to the main shops of Calpe.  The beach is right beside the hotel and each of the superbly equipped bedrooms has a large balcony with side views to the sea.  For those looking to just relax, the hotel has wonderful outdoor swimming pools and sun terraces and there is a large indoor pool, comfortable lounges and cosy bar.  There is also the option of booking one of Hotel Esmeralda’s apartments.  These come with either one or two bedrooms and, whilst the price per person is still exactly the same as it is still a full board package, they do all have kitchens and lounges and offer more space.  The two-bedded apartments have two bedrooms and two bathrooms and are ideal for two couples travelling together.
  There is also the option of staying in the Four Star luxury of Hotel Diamante Beach. This offers the very latest in design, and standards of accommodation and facilities that are leading the way in this part of Spain. Food is on a self-service basis, there is always an excellent choice and, of course, you can have as much or as little as you want.  The salad and fruit bars are extensive, there is a selection of meat and fish and a big display of starters and desserts.  We are very impressed with the quality of the food and feel sure that you will enjoy the relaxed style of dining.  We have an excellent rapport with the owner and the director of the hotels and can assure you of the highest levels of customer care and friendly service.  Most of the staff have been at the hotel for many years and a lot of them speak English.

Trips will be available as optional extras.There will be various sight seeing excursions and a trip to a Spanish market, something which has to be done when visiting Spain!  Trips will be confirmed on arrival at the hotel but will be dependent on sufficient interest.

Transfer from Alicante is about an hour. The package price includes full board accommodation, your flight from Gatwick, airport transfers and all your entertainment. Patsy Tweedie, Chris Blair and Jim McVey are already making a name for themselves as Shotgun Reloaded and they will be resident with us.No Good Time Music Holiday would be as good a time without Curtis Magee who will be with us.  Blake and Brazil have become favourites of all our followers and join us again as does highly acclaimed singer song writer and multi-instrumentalist, Dave Sheriff. Irene and Tom another popular act on the Irish scene join us for the first time as do award winning vocalist Nicky James and Nathan Carter, the 17 year old who is wowing audiences throughout England and Ireland.  We are also delighted to be joined by Boxcar Brian, another great singer from Ireland. Shaun Michael and his band will be hosting the holiday and they are a first class band and friends to all Shaun Michael Good Time Music Holidaymakers. A truly extensive and varied line up – ‘top-notch’ I am sure you will agree. There will be dancing each night and music by the pool in the afternoons and once again, with sufficient interest, we will have a couple of late nights with bar and entertainment until the small hours!
